As almost every student on campus knows, Summer is approaching fast. With the last day of school set as June 5, there only 1 month, 1 week, and 1 day left of school, which has left the students of South Pasadena Middle School full of excitement and anticipation.

Many students already have at least most of their summer planned out, whether it’s going to a summer camp with your friends or leaving to travel out of the country, no one can wait for the school year to be over.

One of the most popular activities for the summer seems to be going to Camps. Some of the most popular seem to be Catalina Island, Music, Art, Drama and Sports Camps.

Lots of kids are also traveling. Some popular destinations are Hawaii, Las Vegas, New York City, Boston, Chicago, and some students are even leaving the country and going to France, Egypt, and London.

With the end of the year approaching fast, many kids are left with mixed feelings about the end of the year. Everyone is excited for no more homework, and a break from a school classroom, and a chance to get better grades next year,  but lots of kids don’t want the year to end. One 7th grade student said “My least favorite thing about the last day of school is that some friends have to leave to go to other schools.”, but another 7th grader replied that their favorite thing about the school year ending is “The relief of passing another grade, and hanging out with friends for the last time. I also love how we can share memories with our friends. 7th grade was a wonderful experience for probably most people.”
