Track Practice

The South Pasadena track team has worked very hard this year. Their practices are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3-4:30. Practice begins with warm ups including jogging three laps and stretching. After warm ups, the team runs their drills on the school field. Sometimes they do core workouts that are painful but effective. Then, the track team splits into groups for their individual events. The first group is the short distance runners or sprinters. During this time they did an interval workout around the track. The next group is the middle distance runners. This group runs about 1-2 miles around the neighborhood. The last group is the field events. This group specializes in events including high jump, long jump, and shot put.

The team is also preparing for their league finals on May 9th. This will be the last meet of the season.
