Boys Volleyball Game vs. Sierra Madre

The Boys Volleyball team’s third game was against Sierra Madre on April 18, 2019. After winning their first two games, the big question was: could the tigers maintain their winning streak?

After a thorough warm-up before the game, the Tigers looked ready to take on their opponents. Sierra Madre started the set off with the ball. With a little miscommunication among our team, we gave Sierra Madre an early 5-0 lead, before calling a timeout to regroup. After the timeout, the Tigers came alive, quickly earning back Sierra Madres’ lead, tieing them at 6-6. The Tigers them gained a lead on Sierra Madre of 9-6, before our opponents were forced to call a timeout. After the timeout, we looked even stronger. With amazing spikes by Aidan Hilger, Titus Rodz and William Guy, and long serve runs by Aaron Quan and Kai Munoz, South Pas eventually took the first set by a score of 25-9.

The Tigers started with the ball at the beginning of the second set. This allowed South Pas to take an early lead with help from an incredible spike by Declan Swift and a serving run by Aidan Hilger. Eventually, Sierra Madre was forced to call a timeout with the Tigers leading 6-0. However, the timeout didn’t seem to help Sierra Madre at all. With help from another serving run by Kai Munoz, South Pas managed to maintain a strong lead throughout the second set. They eventually secured their third win in a row by a score of 25-6 in the second set. Our Tigers have proven that they have what it takes to maintain their unbeaten run of three games. Be sure to come out and support your Tigers in their next Volleyball game on Thursday April 25!
