Boy's Volleyball Easily Sweeps Jefferson at Home Game

The Tiger’s defeated the Jefferson Bulldogs in 2 straight sets yesterday. This put South Pas’s record at 2-0 in preseason games. The team easily won both sets, with scores 25-11 and 25-8

South Pas quickly pulled ahead in the first set with yet another serving run by Kai Munoz. This serving run was kept alive by great kills from 7th grader, Titus Rodz. Rodz was assisted by our 8th grade setters, Aidan Hilger and Aaron Quan. Jefferson called a timeout in hopes of waking up their team and keeping them in the game. It worked and the Bulldogs came within 5 points of the Tigers. Jefferson's run ended when a missed serve gave South Pas the ball back. 8th grader, Declan Swift was able to extend the Tiger’s lead with great kills and blocks. Serving runs by Aidan Hilger and Richie Conti quickly ended the first set at a score of 25-11.

The Tigers were able to take a lead in the second set quickly. Holes in Jefferson’s serve receive allowed for Ryan Estanislao to serve countless aces. Errors by the Bulldogs allowed the Tigers’ lead to grow to 11-5, before Jefferson called their first timeout. Ben Petrillo's serves quickly demolished any hope of Jefferson coming back. He served 9 times before a kill won the game for the Tigers.

The next volleyball game is April 18, at home at 3:30.
